Mick Fenley

VP of Analytics and Business Intelligence, Community America CU

Mr. Fenley has extensive leadership experience in consulting, logistics, rail and banking, and has a passion for technology and fact based decision making through big data and analytics.

He is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia with a bachelors and MBA in Finance and enjoys the opportunity to work with companies to improve communication and promote positive member/client experiences.

Mick resides in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife and 3 children and enjoys coaching baseball, football and basketball and is a 20 year credit union member.

Brian Garr

Senior Creative Technologist, Virgin Voyagers.

Brian has been a C level executive for the past 30 years of AI software companies. including GoVivace Speech Technologies, Cognitive Code AI, Globalink, IBM, and LinguaSys.

Brian founded and was CEO of LinguaSys, which was sold to Aspect Software. He also managed IBM’s Speech Recognition Group. Brian has been an advocate and frequent speaker on Machine Translation and Speech Recognition all over the world. In 1998 he accepted the award for Globalink at the Smithsonian Institutes’ “Heroes in Technology” ceremonies for their work in Machine Translation.

Brian was a contributing author to two recently published books: Where Humans Meet Machines: Innovative Solutions for Knotty Natural-Language Problems, edited by Amy Neustein and Judith A. Markowitz (Jun 30, 2013), and A Beginner's Guide to Artificial Intelligence: for Boomers and Boards, by Brian Garr (Sep 28, 2018)

Ben Hart

Chief Financial Officer, Texas Tech FCU

Ben Hart has been in the credit union industry for over 16 years. He started his professional career in 2001 as a credit analyst with Dallas Semiconductor in Addison, TX.

Soon after, he was hired by the Texas Credit Union Department as a Financial Examiner for state-chartered credit unions.

In 2003, he accepted a similar position with the NCUA in which he earned designation as a Principal Examiner - Specialized Lending Subject Matter Expert. In 2009, Ben was promoted to Problem Case Officer (PCO). In that position, he examined credit unions in troubled condition. During his tenure as a PCO, he was accepted and graduated from NCUA’s Management Development Program, an 18 month curriculum focusing on leadership and professional development. In 2012, Ben was promoted to Deputy Director of Supervision for NCUA Region IV.

Gary Hess

President, RTE Financial Services

Gary is the President of RTE Financial Services, LLC, a distributor of web based software to financial institutions. RTEfs also engages in consulting activities for financial institutions.

Prior to forming RTEfs, Gary was a consultant to credit unions, first with Counter Intelligence Associates/TRG and then as the owner of Gary Hess Consulting. Previous to his consulting work, Gary was employed by Bankers Systems, Inc. for twenty-five years. In his tenure with BSI he worked in the development of compliance documents, documentation software systems, component technology and served as BSI’s business development manager for the credit union market.

Gary’s current focus with RTEfs is web portals, consulting and industry education. Through RTEfs he continues his consulting work in the areas of strategic planning, CUSO development, member business services, including lending, deposits and training, risk based lending and consumer compliance.

Bruce Hoogstraten

President, Geo-San, Inc

Bruce Hoogstraten is President of Geo-San, Inc. which has been in existence since 1998. He has over 30 years of experience in operational management, sales, and engineering. Geo-San is a management consulting practice focusing on operational management issues for small businesses, government contractors, as well as being instrumental in supporting various non-profits organizations. He has also been the executive director for the non-profit advocacy group – the NASA Aerospace Support Team (NAST) for over 15 years.

Ethan Wall

President/CEO, Social Media Law and Order Education, LLC

Ethan is a nationally recognized expert in social media and the law. As a social media attorney, professor, author, and keynote speaker, Ethan has delivered speeches to thousands of attorneys, financial institution executives, and human resource professionals worldwide through his live and online multi-media programs.

He has authored six books, including The Social Media Guide for Lawyers and Should You Fire over Facebook? and has delivered over 100 continuing education programs on subjects relating to social media, ethics, compliance, and the law. CNN and NPR regularly turn to Ethan for commentary on social media legal issues.

The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce named Ethan the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year and The Florida Bar named him the 2015 Most Productive Young Lawyer of the Year.
