Technology Due-Diligence Before a Merger or Acquisition

Peter Fugaro, President, Prymak, LLC

The NCUA approved 76 mergers in Q1 and Q2 of 2022, up from Q1 2021. As the trend continues, credit union boards need to continue to be vigilant throughout the due-diligence process. One area that can get overlooked is technology: what will the new technology infrastructure look like after the merger? During this session we’ll discuss the merger and acquisition process with a close look at how to ensure existing technology is considered and how the future state will look before the final consolidation.

Transformation Goals: Creating Forward-Looking Organizational Guidance

Tom Glatt, Jr., Principal/Strategy Consultant, Glatt Consulting Group, Inc.

The world largest, most successful, and best known companies did not start at the top, nor did they get there by accident. Most, if not all of them, used a tried and true methodology for establishing organizational goals - goals that then challenged their respective leadership teams to achieve peak performance and create exceptional shareholder value. While many credit unions set goals, few set the kinds of transformative, forward-looking goals that drive peak performance and exceptional value. In this session Tom Glatt will teach you how to rethink your goal structure and development process using the same tried and true methodologies in place at the world’s best run companies.

Understanding Cybersecurity and Protecting Member Data

Peter Fugaro, President, Prymak, LLC

The ability for credit unions to use the cloud and online technologies creates the power to add new products, improve service for existing members and attract new membership. But online hacking, data breaches and identity theft are present in cyberspace and adds risk to a credit union’s operation. This session is designed to present in a straightforward manner how credit union executives and board members can understand how the institution can take advantage of the web while limiting risks and protecting member data.

11:25 a.m. – 12:25 p.m.

The Magic Tablecloth

Sundeep Kapur, Founder, Digital Credence

Your digital assets are like a magic tablecloth that should be able to display what people want, make it uber easy to find information, and easily recognize visitors without being creepy. Immense amounts of data, machine learning algorithms, and superfast computational speeds are driving the future of your digital assets. This discussion will focus on how we can leverage these features to have personalized and valuable interactions.
