Speakers:

Bill Farley is a Sales Manager-Select for CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wisconsin. He leads a sales team of 12 executives who provide superior service to more than 800 credit unions in the eastern United States.

Bill joined CUNA Mutual in 2001 as Division Manager of Business Development. He was promoted to Regional Vice President of Lending for the Southeast Marketing Division in 2004, and he accepted his current position in 2006. Bill is based in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Previously, Bill spent 13 years as President & Chief Executive Officer of Central Virginia Federal Credit Union, and he worked for five years as Vice President & City Executive for North Carolina State Employees Credit Union.

Bill earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina. He has completed the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) CEO Institute at Wharton School of Business and the CUES Advanced Leadership Institute at Harvard University.

Bill also graduated with Highest Honors from the National Credit Union Institute. He was awarded the Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation from CUNA’s Center for Professional Development.

Bill is a frequent speaker at league meetings and credit union conferences, speaking on topics such as board/CEO relationships, channel management, strategic planning, lending, and leadership.

 

Gary Hess is the President of RTE Financial Services, LLC, a distributor of web based software to financial institutions.  RTEfs also engages in consulting activities for financial institutions.

Prior to forming RTEfs, Gary was a consultant to credit unions, first with Counter Intelligence Associates/TRG and then as the owner of Gary Hess Consulting.  Previous to his consulting work, Gary was employed by Bankers Systems, Inc. for twenty-five years.  In his tenure with BSI he worked in the development of compliance documents, documentation software systems, component technology and served as BSI’s business development manager for the credit union market.

Gary’s current focus with RTEfs is web portals, consulting and industry education.  Through RTEfs he continues his consulting work in the areas of strategic planning, CUSO development, member business services, including lending, deposits and training, risk based lending and consumer compliance.

Gary regularly speaks at industry meetings regarding topical issues, including web based software, member business services, ID Theft, Bank Secrecy Act including the USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Customer Identification Programs.  Gary is available to financial institutions and industry associations to discuss compliance, business and market issues.

Gary received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, College of Education, in Mathematics in 1974.  He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law Center in 1977.
