Bruce Hoogstraten is President of Geo-San, Inc. which has been in existence since 1998.  He has over 30 years of experience in operational management, sales, and engineering.  Geo-San is a management consulting practice focusing on operational management issues for small businesses, government contractors, as well as being instrumental in supporting various non-profits organizations. He has also been the executive director for the non-profit advocacy group – the NASA Aerospace Support Team (NAST) for 15 years.

Mr. Hoogstraten lives in Hampton, VA and attended Hampton High School.  He received his BSME from the small private military college of Norwich University. He was a project engineer for the Westinghouse Corporation working on Naval Nuclear hardware, and a design engineer for a local NASA LaRC contractor.  After receiving his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Hoogstraten worked for Ferguson Enterprises Incorporated as a manager specializing in operations and business processes. The first startup venture Mr. Hoogstraten created was an effort centered on technology transferred from the NASA LaRC involving a patented ultra-stable laser which was marketed in the space based communication industry.

Bruce is married, has two sons and is very active in volunteer work.  He is the past Chairmen of the Governor’s Aerospace Advisory Council; Past Chairman of the Hampton YMCA and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA; He was on the Colonial Virginia Council of the Boys Scouts of American; Currently Chairman of The Board of Fellows for Norwich University (as well as The Class Agent for Norwich 1982); Current Vice-Chairman for the Board of Directors for Langley Federal Credit Union; The Peninsula Baseball Stadium Authority; Chairman of the Pilots Youth Baseball Organization; and has been an adjunct MBA professor at Hampton University.


Robert Smith has served in various management and sales roles in the financial services industry for the past 25 years. His diverse experience includes Sales, Sales Management, Investment Management, Property and Casualty Insurance, Life Insurance, Retail and Commercial Banking, and Capital Markets, Audit and Compliance.

Mr. Smith started with CUNA Mutual Group in 2000 as a Field Compliance Manager in the Southeast.  From 2001 to 2006, as an Account Manager, he led an account team to work with approximately 50 credit unions in South Florida to address their business needs with CUNA Mutual products.  From 2006 to 2013 Robert worked as a Sales Executive with over 60 small to mid-sized credit unions in South Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Virginia as a “Single Point of Sales Contact” for all CUNA Mutual Products and Services.  In August 2013, he assumed a new role within CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. (a subsidiary of CUNA Mutual Group) as a Sales Manager, Asset Accumulation overseeing over 20 Financial Advisors in 6 states.

Prior to joining CUNA Mutual, and the credit union movement, Smith worked for a regional bank in the in Internal Audit area for all of capital markets and served as Chief Compliance Officer of the bank’s Fixed Income Trading and Sales.  In addition, He has worked in the personal finance and retirement arenas at Merrill Lynch and Heritage Funds, A Division of Raymond James Financial.

Robert has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from The University of South Florida and holds a Life and Health Insurance Licenses (including Variable Annuity), as well as FINRA Series 7, 24, 53 and 66 licenses.

He recently relocated from the Tampa Bay area to Allen, Texas with his wife Alisha and three great kids: Jillian (20), Jenna (15) and Jackson (12).
