Walt Agius

Walt Agius has over 25 years experience consulting and working for credit unions. Walt entered the Credit Union movement in the early eighties after being recruited by CUNA Mutual as a consultant to start a National Credit Union financial planning process for Credit Union members called Plan America. He then held a senior management position with the California League and League Services Corporation until starting Advanced Solutions in 1989.  Advanced Solutions, a credit union specific marketing and management consulting company was purchased by Liberty Enterprises in 1998 which allowed Liberty to expand their national marketing and consulting strategies.  

Since selling Advanced Solutions, Walt has maintained his contact and presence in the Credit Union marketplace as President/CEO of a CUSO owned by a billion dollar Credit Union on the east coast.  He was also President/CEO of a Credit Union in the Los Angeles area.  During his tenure as the Credit Union CEO, he facilitated the start-up and operation of a Credit Union Owned Auto Dealership CUSO called Autoseekers. Autoseekers was developed as a collaborative CUSO, serving other credit unions in the local area, providing new and used car buying services, wholesale disposition of vehicles for credit unions and indirect lending.

Walt continues to manage his consulting practice under the CU Professional Services name working with Credit Unions across the country. He has also developed and is introducing a national indirect lending platform and software company for credit unions called CU Lending Edge. Walt continues to be a frequent speaker and presenter at local and national Credit Union related conferences and workshops.

Grace Mayo

Grace joined Telesis Community CU in 1986 and is currently the President/CEO.  The credit union’s assets are $600 million and services over 41,000 members with 9 branches. 

Grace serves as the Chairperson for Business Partners, LLC which is a multi-owned member business lending CUSO with 17 equity credit union owners nationwide.  BP, LLC currently serves hundreds of contracted credit union partners nationwide and manages assets greater than $1.5 billion.  She is charged with the strategic management of the combined assets of TCCU and BPLLC, totaling $2.1 billion. Grace also serves as Board Director for Members Development Corp (MDC), which is comprised of 66 of the largest Credit Unions nationwide and whose main purpose is to collaborate on major projects and acquisitions for the mutual benefit of this group and industry at large. She also serves as Chairperson for CU Vehicles, LLC-Autoland, Inc. the largest credit union vehicle purchasing CUSO, serving hundreds of credit unions nationally.  

Prior activities include: Board Member of Credit Union National Association (CUNA), Board Director for CO-OP ATM Network (9 yrs.), former Chair for National Association of Community CU’s (NACCU), Chairperson for CUNA's Member Business Task Force, member of the Calif. League Applied Research Comm. and WesCorp's Competitive Task Force Committee.  Board Council member of NASCUS, Chairperson for California Credit Union Liquidity Task Force and Technology Task Force. CUNA Mutual Western Policy Rep. for Calif. and Chairperson of the “Liquidity Task Force” for WesCorp.  Recent 2006 testimony for CUNA on CU SBA program, along with being involved with the Renaissance Commission. Served on Vision 2000 Committee for CCUL, Chapter Board Member, Shapiro Group Board along with CUFIS Committees.  

Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Management from UOP, Graduate Degree in Financial Management from UCLA,  Certification in Commercial Lending from the University of Louisiana and attended the Executive Development Program from Stanford University School of Business. Grace is a national speaker on various credit union topics for state leagues, credit unions and all major national trade association groups.   

Recent Awards and Recognition:  Recipient of “2009 Founders Award” from CO-OP Network,  “Valley’s Top 2007 Banker” Award, 2005 Honored Recipient for Excellent Community Service Award in the San Fernando Valley along with “The Best Company Award” from the Chatsworth Chamber of Commerce 2004. Received the Calif. Credit Union League 2003 “Distinguished Service Award” and award winner from the San Fernando Business Journal 2003 “CEO of the Year for Woman Who Mean Business”.
